UMTopVestRave DEFAULT REPLACEMENT
Jun. 15th, 2010 07:45 pmAlso known as the extremely tacky vest top from Nightlife. You know which one I'm talking about right? Neon vests, color plastic choker, the incredibly tacky star necklace in a couple of them? Worst of all, there are SIX of this monstrosities in our game and are available for teens and adults. Ugh, I hate them so much!
However, there's someone who has been able to turn this mesh into something actually nice, and that is Fanseelamb. I love her "Justin Vests", and these were the reason why I didn't end up downloading a mesh replacement. These were also the reason why I learned to make replacements too!
So, you can finally get rid of the tacky neon vests and replace them with these cozy sweaters with vests. The replacement will work for adults AND teens! And you want to know the best part of this deal? If you download Fakepeep's conversions of these vests for children , they will also show up with these textures as well. So now all your male sims can go down the street sporting matching sweaters and vests this winter! :D

(Images by Fanseelamb. I only mashed them together so you could see what you're getting)

I like the shape of these pajamas, but I wasn't very fond of the colors and textures, so I used these neat recolors to do defaults. (She's one of the two creators I love from the Site that should not be mentioned). Male sims get the solid pajamas on each pair, while the female sims get the patterned counterpart.
Tip (and this is the reason I turned these into defaults): If you download Cocomama's Texture Referencing Conversions, these pajamas (and recolors) will also be available for your teen sims :D. (Female Conversion and Male Conversion)

[Download] Strangetown 2.0 SC4 Terrain
Jun. 15th, 2010 07:49 pm
The main changes are:
- There is a new road the surrounds the original lots from the Road to Nowhere. I called it the "Loop that leads to Nowhere". Notice that the Loop is the only way to cross from one side to the other of the Road to Nowhere.
- Added a couple small roads to divide the rectangle created by the loop into sections for easier management of the space.
- Added a road that leads into the huge crater behind the Beaker's house. I am going to build a lab in there, but it could also be a good hiding spot for your aliens.
- Speaking of, the biggest change is the small crater to the far east from the Nigmos' house. There is space in there for a 3x3 lot and it's going to be a secret lot for my story. In my crazy mind, that's the spot where the alien enemy race, the Vlorgians, first landed when they arrived to Sim Earth.
I have never shared a terrain before, so I hope I am doing this correctly. I do not know how to make those fancy terrain pictures, though, so you only get the SC4 file. It works in game and you can use it in these two ways:
1. As a standalone neighborhood (you'll want to add a picture for your neighborhood later)
2. As an expansion for Strangetown. This is how I am using it. I created an empty Strangetown (the original one with all the deco and lots) and then a new neighborhood with my terrain. Then, I used this program, the Hood Replacer, to transfer the new roads and craters to the original Strangetown (I suggest you to uncheck both the "lot" and "decoration" options, because I forgot to do the later one so I had to add the deco my myself and building that circle or rocks with the head shaped one is a pain in the butt.). It was extremely easy and according to the program description you can do this even with a populated town, but I'd suggest you to back up your game first. Oh, the only thing you'd need to fix if you go through this route is to move the Road to Nowhere 88 community lot a bit to the left because it'll now be crossed over by one of my new roads, but it is easy to do.
I think this is all the info you need. Enjoy the hood!
The Sims Portrait Project (Part 1)
Jun. 15th, 2010 08:15 pmThese are all portraits of different Pre-Made Maxis sims and their predecessors. In order to take these pictures, I used both the Sims 2 and Sims 3 to capture the Pre-made predecessors and their childhoods. I also looked at pictures from the Sims 1 to style some of them as their Sims 1 selves.
I still have a lot of pictures left that feature the rest of the Broke family (I thought I had lost them, but I've just found them in my Photobucket account). I only need to tweak them a little with Photshop so they show up better as paintings in game and they'll be ready for SimPe.
Besides that, my plan is to do all the Pleasantview, Strangetown and Veronaville families, but for now I am focusing only on PV because it is actually the largest project (because its inhabitants are part of the three Sims games). I already have the Sims done in my game and I am currently taking the pictures. I can't wait to show them to you! :)
So, let's take a look at what I have tonight. I recolored three Maxis Meshes:
The first one is the good old BV mesh that everyone loves. Not only does it look great in game (and it has the perfect size and format for a portrait), but some creators have done amazing things with it, from frame recolors to whole sets that feature new shapes and sizes of this mesh. If you download these, you'll be able to use these recolors in many ways.
The BV Collectible Poster recolors I made are (in chronological order):

The Goths from Sims 3 (you can do like me and pretend these portraits look "odd" in your Sims 2 games because back when these pictures were taken, technology was not as advanced as it is today :D)
( More Under the Cut )

This download is organized as a catalog/directory (sort of like the Booty). Take a look at the pictures, note down the name of the files you want, and download it at the Mediafire folder I set up for this project. I have a Pro account, so there shouldn't be any issues with this modality.
Please excuse the inconvenience, but otherwise I am not sure when I would have been able to complete the preview pictures.
INFO:
- Most of the Meshes are included (please see notes under the cut).
- Useless ages deleted with SimPe
- Six Natural Colors by me
- The code I use when labeling my hairs is: 1. Black, 2. Dark Brown, 3. Brown, 4. Bright Red, 5. Maxis Red and 6. Blond.
- Dread Textures by Nouk/Pooklet (for the meshes that I retextured)
- Braid texture by Ninika (for the Dark Lady Braid Mesh Retexture)
- The MCContesse Plait mesh is only for toddler and child.
If you have any trouble, please let me know!
